Welcome to this season’s first a cappella concert with the Norwegian Soloists´ Choir and the talented conductor Yuval Weinberg.

On the program this evening is music composed during times of war.

‘Figure Humaine’ was written by Francis Poulenc during the German occupation of France in 1943. The score was smuggled to London for its world premiere broadcasted on BBC Radio in March 1945.

“It’s not only one of Poulenc’s greatest achievements, but one of the 20th century’s most extraordinary choral pieces” (The Guardian)
