Path of Miracles

A musical journey unlike anything else with the Norwegian Soloists’ Choir and conductor Yuval Weinberg.

The season opens with a full evening devoted to one of today’s most moving choral works: Path of Miracles by Joby Talbot.

Inspired by the Camino de Santiago, the piece unfolds as a pilgrimage in sound. Its four movements, Roncesvalles, Burgos, León, and Santiago, mark stages along the route.

Like the journey itself, the music stretches through time, inviting stillness, reflection, and deep listening. Vast landscapes emerge alongside an inner journey of struggle and endurance, hope and community, doubt and transformation.

Path of Miracles is widely regarded as one of Talbot’s finest works. Powerful, immediate, and deeply affecting. It blends contemporary choral writing with echoes of older traditions, from Gregorian chant to vibrant rhythms and vocal techniques from different cultures.

Six languages, from Latin to Basque, carry the voices of countless pilgrims across centuries—people from different places and lives, united by a shared destination.
