The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir and conductor Håkon Daniel Nystedt
Season Finale
Norwegian folk music meet classical music in a concert that bridges generations, musical styles, and traditions.
The folk songs have accompanied people through joy and sorrow, carrying a wealth of emotions and telling stories of life’s fragility, transience, and power. They can be deeply serious, yet playful and full of life.
The program features a range of traditional folk tunes and ballads about love, faith, and mystery, with a special guest appearance by Martin Steinum Brun – one of Norway’s most interesting young folk singers.

Brun was named Young Folk Musician of the Year at the 2024 Folkelarm Awards and is trained in both classical singing and folk music at the Grieg Academy and the Norwegian Academy of Music.
The concert is conducted by Håkon Daniel Nystedt, artistic director of the Oslo Chamber Choir since 2005, a choir celebrated for its innovative exploration of Norwegian folk music.
