After auditions in November, The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir has taken in two new tenors.
Here you can get to know Szymon Rudzki.
Szymon was born and grew up in the city of Wrocław in Poland where he began singing as a boy treble. Szymon has studied singing at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and later choral conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. He is currently an active ensemble singer and choir conductor; a permanent member of Eric Ericson Chamber Choir and conductor of the Swedish choir AcQuire.
Szymon has sung with The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir on several occasions.
I feel that my voice fits in very well in the choir's tenor group and in the choir as a whole. It’s both comfortable and inspiring to sing in the choir and I feel that my voice together with the others support each other. The singers and the conductor have a unique musicality and a strong sense of interpretation. I am very happy that I can now participate in even more projects as a permanent singer in the choir!
One of Szymon's best memories with the choir was the trip to Adelaide Festival in Australia February 2020.
It was a fantastic musical encounter with the choir, Netherlands Chamber Choir, The Tallis Scholars, and The Sond Company in the “150 Psalms” project. What makes this memory even more special is that the whole world was forced into lockdown almost immediately after we returned home.
The tenors in The Norwegian Soloists' Choir have also greatly enjoyed working with Szymon.
Szymon is a very friendly, light, musically-secure, and curious Polish/Swede who we really look forward to having in the tenor group. Szymon really gets what it means to sing in an ensemble at this level. Welcome!
