The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir seek Alto and Tenor
THE NORWEGIAN SOLOISTS' CHOIR was established in 1950 and consists of 26 professional singers who are engaged with a loyalty agreement for up to three years based on audition.
The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir has always striven to achieve the highest possible artistic goals. In the last few years, the choir has further increased its reputation with concerts in the foremost classical musical festivals in Norway, critically acclaimed CD recordings, tours both nationally and internationally, and joint projects with leading Norwegian and international orchestras and ensembles. The choir works on a project-based model. The introductory contract is for 1 year (trial period).
The Norwegian Soloists’ Choir is entering an exciting chapter and Yuval Weinberg will be the choir’s Artistic Director from August 2026.
Audition repertoire:
For Alto:
J. S. Bach: "Erbarme dich" from St. Matthew Passion
For Tenor:
J. S. Bach: "Ach, mein sinn" from St. John Passion
OR
G. F. Händel: "Comfort Ye" from Messiah
For all:
A chosen lied/romance/English song (not Baroque)
Sight-reading
There will also be a second round where applicants will sing in a small ensemble together with permanent members of the choir. More information about this will be sent to applicants called into audition.

We ask that the recording is of either an oratorio aria or lied/romance. We encourage applicants to include suitable ensemble experience in the CV.
Application deadline: 25 August 2025
The auditions will take place in Oslo on 29-30 September 2025.
Applicants will be invited to audition after consideration of the application and recording.
