Absolutt Solistkoret II
Musical treasures
Welcome to the second part of the concert series Absolutt Solistkoret, featuring some of the most moving works written for choir. Here, the audience will experience the voice in its full power with The Norwegian Sololists' Choir, led by conductor Grete Pedersen.
Under Grete Pedersen's visionary leadership over 35 years, The Norwegian Soloists' Choir has reached ever greater musical heights. This concert is part of her final season as the choir's Artistic Director.
The program brings together music from different times, written to texts addressing life's big questions, about deep sorrow and suffering, but also hope and unity. The composers of the evening demonstrate how music can provide meaning and depth wehn facing life's greatest challenges.
The concert will also feature the world premiere of Untitled (Horizons) by Eivind Buene, composed specifically for The Norwegian Soloist' Choir and the renowned percussionist Ingar Zach. Mark Rothko's paintings have been an inspiration for the piece, which is the third composition Buene has written for The Norwegian Soloist' Choir.
